This turbocharged Toyota is a highlight of one of the collector car world's leading investments.

Developed as a competitor to the Datsun Z-car, the 1978 Toyota Supra was based off the marque's Celica platform but was longer, wider, and featured a larger engine. In 1979, the first Supra exports hit the U.S. with a few better options than were available the previous year, and by 1986 - after several redesigns - the Celica and the Supra became two completely separate cars. The 1987 year model included an optional turbocharged version, setting the stage for the most desirable Supra made.

With nearly a decade-and-a-half of redesigns under its belt, the Supra entered its fourth generation in 1993 with a twin-turbo variant being made available. Dubbed as one of the most exciting Japanese performance cars of all time, the sports car boasted a 5.6 second 0-60mph time and sprinted a 1/4 mile in just 13.1s at 109mph. With a following that grew just as rapidly as the car would accelerate, many Supras were driven hard, making a well preserved original example today a very rare find.

Awakening interest in previous versions, Toyota unveiled the fifth generation of the Supra at the 2019 North American Auto Show in Detroit, and started selling the car earlier this year. While everyone is holding their breath for the new generation of the car, older versions like this 1994 Toyota Supra with a twin-turbocharged engine are still moving hands at considerable speeds.

This brilliant, original example has had only one owner since it was new, it has been "used lightly and stored in a temperature controlled environment with the wheels off." The example is in perfect cosmetic and mechanical condition and "includes all original books, window sticker, tags, and tools still in their original plastic pouch."
