This carbon fiber Dodge Charger hosts the beating V8 heart of a modern Demon muscle car. 966-horsepower is now at the driver's disposal

It’s an exciting time to be a fan of American muscle cars with impressive modern models such as the Dodge Demon on the scene. However, as awesome as the Demon is, it lacks the iconic aesthetic of classic Dodge muscle cars that are now highly collectable. If only we could have the best of both worlds… Thankfully, Jay Leno’s latest four-wheeled star delivers just that.

In a slight change of format to the Jay Leno’s Garage show, the action begins right away with Jay taking the screaming Speedkore Evolution Charger for a spin. This car might look like a 1970s American classic, but its body is made of modern carbon fiber and its beating heart is that of the latest Dodge Demon. Weighing just 3400lbs thanks to the lightweight body and aluminum floor, the car’s creator Dave Salvaggio states ‘It moves really nice. It’s really light on its feet.’

The detailed carbon manufactured parts continue inside the car’s with spartan cabin. It hosts a custom aluminum dashboard that’s mighty impressive, as is the substantial roll cage fitted to this car. A pair of leather racing seats are more of a necessity to keep occupants in place than being an aesthetic choice.

As well as modern materials, modern manufacturing processes were utilized to create this car. 3D printing was used for many of the parts on the space age Charger, such as the air intake and various fasteners.

Under the hood is a modified version of the Dodge Demon’s 6.2-liter supercharged V8 HEMI engine. In the Evolution Charger the unit now produces 966-horsepower that’s sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, a gearbox pinched from a Dodge Hellcat.

Watch the video with the volume up as the noise this carbon fiber muscle car makes is incredible! If you want to hear the Speedkore Evolution Charger on a more regular basis, around 70 will be up for grabs.
