1936 Studebaker Dictator Has Appeared On Film

An immaculate Plum paint job is free of blemishes, so it shines up nicely to a showroom quality. The same goes for the prominent brightwork on the bumpers, grille, and other trim pieces, as well as the hubcaps and whitewall tires. Pull up anywhere in this ride and you will gather a big crowd, because this has the classic look everyone appreciates and recognizes as something special.

Just as impressive is the condition of the tan interior, which looks immaculate and goes to great lengths to preserve the original look and feel of the car.  Everything works perfectly, too, including the straight-six engine and manual transmission, so you get the full effect of what this machine was like in its heyday.

Already with a stellar reputation for high quality and reliability, Studebaker decided to offer a more affordable model starting in 1927, calling it the Dictator. The marketing around the car was that it would “dictate the standard” for that class of automobile.

Of course, the name was doomed once dictators began taking over Europe and war erupted about ten years later, with 1937 being the final year of the nameplate. This dubious history only adds to the unique and valuable quality of this car, making it a fun vehicle to add to any collection. Add to that the fact this particular car made appearances in “The Ultimate Life” and “The Longest Ride” and you have something quite compelling.
