This is like a posh pink cream puff on wheels.

Cruising down any street in a 1955 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria Skyliner provides amazing views, thanks to the curved Plexiglas section of the roof. Add to that the fact this car is long and low, plus loaded with all the cool 1950s styling that will send anyone into a nostalgic frenzy. This one will stand out, even in a crowd of classic cars.

While this ride was restored a while ago, some recent refreshing elevates it to showroom quality. Despite not being the factory color, the pink paint job looks great on this ride and it fits the time period perfectly. Plenty of brightwork and whitewall tires complete the look. The exterior styling details on this car are legendary, like the “tiara” or “basket handle” chrome treatment which graced the roof and B-pillars, then flowed down the sides to form the “Fairlane stripe.” This car even comes with search lights mounted on the A-pillars.

Pop the hood and proudly display the Y-block 272ci V8, which is super clean. A two-barrel carburetor plus single exhaust help coax out 162-horsepower. Everything presents well, thanks to the complimentary color scheme of an orange block, black valve covers, and a silver-gray air cleaner.

As a true luxury model, you’ll find the interior of this car to be quite comfortable. Pink vinyl and black cloth on the seats is in perfect condition, all the original controls and gauges are intact, the power windows work, plus there’s a power front bench seat.

Nicknamed “Glass Top Vicky” back in the day, the Fairlane was the top-of-the-line model from Ford in 1955. It’s easy to see why, thanks to the large glass roof and other high-end treatments. That design is actually thought to be the precursor to the modern sunroof, making this car historically significant for that fact alone. Sales reached a mere 1,999 units for the year, so these aren’t exactly floating around all over the place today. Art & Speed Classic Car Gallery is providing you with the unique opportunity to own such an exquisite and interesting classic ride.
