Check out this 1971 Chevy C/K K-20 that's currently up for grabs at $39,990

This incredibly late second-generation 1971 Chevrolet C/K K-20 presents the very best of ‘egg crate’ Chevy trucks; so-called after the fresh grille design implemented on the 1971 model year, for those unfamiliar with American automotive culture.

For collectors, this slight tweak to the aesthetic design makes all the difference. Manufactured for only a short time in this form, further differentiating aspects from the previous incarnation include a different rear view mirror (glued to the windshield rather than bolted to the top of the cab), molded plastic door panels, and elongated window cranks. It’s the little things, y’know?

So, looking for the perfect K-20? This example with Grands Rapids Classics has to be it. Boasting of only two owners, the truck retains nearly all of its original features and sheet metal – including the fenders, doors, cowl, and hood. To ensure that the Chevy survives another half century, it has just undergone a $20k respray, too.

As such, this truck appears brand new. Per the advert, the body is laser straight with ‘phenomenal paint’ and all new rubber seals and trim. For those seeking a concours K-20, you’ll want to act fast as this beast won’t hang around for long.

Priced at $40k, while you may balk at parting with such money for an old truck, we can assure you that prices for pristine examples of classic 1970s American pick-ups won’t be going anywhere but up. Especially when radiating the same rude health as this example.

Sold new on 10/6/1971 at John Koich Chevrolet of Independence, Oregon, the original dealership license plate surround is included with the sale. The new custodian will also receive the Protect-O-Plate, warranty book, owners mauals, original emission control  systems book, and ownership documents.

These files record the first ownership ‘from new’ lasting through until 2014, where it was then sold to the second owner – of whom Grands Rapids Classics received the truck from. The Chevy never left its hometown prior to arriving at GRC’s dealership.

Vehicles such as this 1971 Chevrolet C/K K-20 rarely become available in such condition, and this one has to be the best example we’ve seen in some time. Running and driving as though it’s just left the factory, serious enthusiasts and collectors won’t be disappointed with this machine. Get a closer look here.
