Nestled under the hood is a 302 cubic-inch V8 engine. Officially Chevy states it makes 290-horsepower and 290 lb.-ft. of torque, many claim those figures are grossly underrated. The engine was created to be high-revving and uses a high 11.0:1 compression ratio. GM tuned it to produce maximum power at 6,000 rpm, making it clear this car was for racing first and foremost. A four-speed manual transmission puts the fun right in your hands, making this car completely engaging from the moment you turn the key in the ignition.

With a mere 75,967 miles on the clock, this Camaro appears to have gone through quite the thorough restoration. The dark blue paint job looks to be in excellent condition, and it contrasts with the white stripes quite well. All the factory badges are present, plus all trim is in good condition. It rides on the 7 inch-wide wheels, which were considered radical for their time. Multi-leaf rear suspension keeps everything stiff and under control when you light up those back tires.

The interior looks to be faithful to the original setup, but with new upholstery, carpet, and headliner. As a result you get a genuine experience when you climb inside this Z/28.

Essentially the Camaro Z/28 was a factory-built racecar created by Chevy to compete in Trans Am racing. It was only available for coupe models, with the Z/28 package first offered for the 1967 model year. The Camaro Z/28 is still in production today, giving owners a track-worthy driving experience and making for a great weekend hot laps toy.
