This is one high-powered street rod.

Taking something old and injecting that undeniably cool retro styling with some new equipment can result in a much better ride. Case in point: this 1934 Ford Tudor Street Rod. It looks wild from the outside and has a plus interior, but what’s under the hood counts the most.

Open up the hood on this old time Ford and you’ll find modern GM power, or more specifically a fuel injected LS1 V8. That engine provides loads of horsepower and torque to get this lightweight classic moving in a hurry. A 700R4 automatic transmission pairs with a 9-inch Ford rear to get all that power to the wheels. All that power is balanced out by four-wheel power disc brakes, power steering, and a five-link rear suspension with coilovers.

Of course, there’s plenty of dramatic effect with this ride’s paint. Over the purple are custom-painted flames, something made popular by hot rodders back in the day. Underneath that fiery paint job are all steel body panels, including the fenders. A custom electric sunroof has been installed, allowing you to cruise with the windows and roof open during warm days and nights.

The custom interior comes with all kinds of amenities you wouldn’t expect in a car like this. Red leather bucket seats match the carpeting, leather door panels, and leather headliner. There are power windows, electric door poppers, VDO white face gauges, a chrome tilt-adjustment steering wheel, custom center console, modern AM/FM stereo, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and seatbelts for the front and rear. You even get the vintage air conditioning, if you don’t want to bake in the heat.

This car is truly a piece of work. While a 1934 Ford Tudor is a classic in its own rite, the extensive work put into this street rod takes things to a whole new level. According to the seller, Fast Lane Classic Cars Inc., this ride went through 4 years of work that was finally completed in 2011. Now, this beautiful ride could be yours.
