This award winning Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is heading to auction this weekend, a car perfect for this summer

What could be better than some alfresco motoring with the roof down and the sun in the sky? How about the addition of a rumbling V8 soundtrack, and some of the most iconic design work the automotive world has ever seen? This 1971 Chevrolet Corvette is a beauty in blue and is for sale with Greensboro Auto Auction.

Car specification can be a pretty sensitive thing, and certainly personal to the original owner. Thankfully this C3 Corvette's first owner had real taste selecting this beautiful shade of Mulsanne Blue with matching interior trim. In the right light this hue really highlights the aerodynamic profile of this Stingray by exaggerating some of the more subtle lines. Roof up or down, this American icon will turn heads. Those Rally wheels with Goodyear white lettered tires are the icing on the cake.

Under the hood is a numbers matching 350 small block V8 engine which is good for 270-horsepower. That performance potential is channeled to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission for an authentic Stingray experience. The car’s speed is tamed with the help of disc brakes at each corner.

The car comes with copies of original documentation including order paperwork, copy of the original window sticker, and a reproduction owner's manual. There’s also plenty of ownership service receipts to track the work carried out on the sports car over the years.

This car’s preservation has been officially recognized by winning the NCRS Top Flight Award not once, but twice. It appears immaculate and has clearly been well looked after over its 88,000-mile life.

The handsome Corvette goes under the hammer at Greensboro Auto Auction’s sale this weekend, making it the perfect purchase to be enjoyed later in the summer. We’ll be intrigued to find out how much lot #ST0038 sells for when the hammer falls on March 2, 2019.
