Rain and cold didn't keep the F-Bodies of GAA from showing off!

At GAA’s March 2019 auction, it seemed as if F-Bodies were a dime a dozen. With several of the lost but ever still longed for GM body styles from the 90’s going for around $5K and most of the first generations there not reaching their reserve, no matter how abundant they were they just weren’t bringing in the high bids, at least not on Thursday or Friday anyway. However, being at the show and getting to view some of the most incredible F-Bodies around was nothing short of amazing.

More from GAA

One in particular that caught my eye from the entrance was this tastefully built pro-touring 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Custom Coupe that looked very familiar. With probably the most attention to detail I have ever seen, the body features the RS style covered headlamp grille, shaved door handles, and custom sheet metal work.

The interior features a custom dash with Auto Meter gauging, a Billet Specialties steering wheel, and Paul Atkins designed red leather seats. Under the hood is a massive custom built 454 based BBC V8 engine with an estimated 650 HP backed by a T-56 transmission. From the Fatman Fabrication subframe to the 9" Ford rear end with a Currie 3.90:1 center section the suspension is every bit as custom as the rest of the car.

Although I couldn’t put my finger on where I had seen the car before, it has been featured nationally in Super Rod magazine and was a Goodguys Street Machine of the Year finalist. The car had also seen previous auctions, and was sold at Barrett-Jacksons Scottsdale 2016 auction for $99,000. It will be very interesting to see how much this one goes for, or if at all. Saturday could be a big day for F-Bodies at the GAA March 2019 event.
