Restored 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Is Ready For Summer

Chevrolet’s Corvette sub-brand has a long and storied history as America’s favorite home-grown sports car. Over the many generations it has been a truly aspirational model, with the desire to own one only growing as each incarnation progresses as a classic. This restored 1967 Stingray L79 offered by Classic Cars of Sarasota appears to be a car that its next owner will cherish.

After plentiful success with the C1 Corvette over nine years, the C2 had some big shoes to fill when it launched in 1963. Revealed as a dynamic and throughly modern design, the C2 was actually the first Chevrolet to be created using a wind tunnel. Over its very successful career, it spawned a handful of variants including this L79 convertible.

Retaining the pop-up headlights and strong stance of the coupe, the convertible brought some glamour to this sports car with the promise of alfresco motoring. This fully-restored car looks spectacular wearing a vibrant shade of red paint. Appearing utterly immaculate, its original aluminum wheels and chromed details are a wonderful time warp back to 1960s American motoring at its best. Under the hood is a 350-horsepower 327 cubic inch V8 engine which claims to have only covered 7 miles — presumably after restoration. The whole drivetrain, including the four-speed transmission, is numbers matching and operating at peak performance. The underside of this classic is spotless with a fresh powder coating applied recently.
