It wears the crown well.

For those who are unfamiliar with the term, a coronet is a small crown consisting of ornaments fixed upon a metal ring. Seems fitting for this royal purple, or Plum Crazy rather, 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T. The Coronet automobile was marketed by Dodge as a full-size car in the 1950s. From 1965 to 1975, however, the name was transferred to intermediate-sized models.

This 1969 model from Unique Specialty & Classic Cars falls within the fifth-generation of the Dodge Coronet. It is powered by a 440 cubic-inch (4-barrel) V8 engine paired with an automatic transmission. A six-pack carburetor setup with cold air ram charger intake were added.

This 1969 Dodge Coronet is a true R/T model. It’s riding on late-model wheels with 4-wheel disc brakes that provide commendable stopping power. The model also includes power brakes and power steering for a smooth, quality ride.

The interior is nicely equipped as well. Air conditioning was added, so you can ride comfortably and show off this bad boy no matter how hot the summer days get. The A/C controls can be found right above the aftermarket stereo. A simple and easy-to-read gauge cluster has been added below the dashboard. The interior also includes a full-length wood-appointed center console. The stunning white bucket seats certainly give a nice contrast of color to the wild Plum Crazy exterior paint job. The door panels and sills are in immaculate shape, as well as the carpet and headliner.

Not only does this Coronet shine bright like the invisible crown it wears, but it also rides just as well. It starts right up without issue and runs in excellent condition. It’s not hard to see that this Dodge two-door hardtop is a beauty. It may have 90,629 miles on the odometer, but it’s important to remember that “you’re only as old as you feel.” The same should be said about cars.
