Honestly, this car is about as clean as it can get. Considering it was owned by a Mercedes specialist for the past 31 years, there’s a good reason for that. According to the seller there’s zero rust present and the car doesn’t have a history of rust, which is phenomenal. On top of that, the white paint is impeccable, while the aluminum body panels are extremely straight and panel gaps are perfect. All the chrome is blemish-free. A soft top and removable hard top come with this car, and both are in excellent condition. All the glass is free of cracks, chips, and pitting. To say this ride shows well would be an understatement.

You’d expect a Mercedes-Benz to be luxurious, and for 1970 this car most certainly is. The original Bamboo seats are supple and well-padded, so you feel like you’re lounging on a fine couch. Factory air conditioning will help keep you cool even in the dead of summer. Just as amazing is the fact the carpets are original and the condition is as if they were brand new. All wood trim is present and in a perfect state of preservation. Each and every gauge and control, plus the original heater, all work exactly as they were designed.

Mercedes-Benz made the 280SL from 1968 to 1971, with 24,000 produced during that time. Many haven’t survived to the present day. This 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL has been preserved to an unreal degree. All the original paperwork, including the manuals are also included. Whoever scoops this car is getting an excellent investment vehicle.
