This is one high-end muscle car.

They say the best gifts are the ones you get for yourself. You could argue that’s not really true, but this 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda called “Menace” Kevin Hart purchased for himself is difficult to counter. After getting the golden touch from SpeedKore Performance Group, this Classic American muscle car is rolling hard with 700-horsepower and absolutely oozing style. What else would you expect a comedian who can regularly fill stadiums for shows to buy for his latest toy?

Before Hart scooped it, this ’70 ‘Cuda made waves at the 2016 SEMA show where it debuted. Thanks to a smooth yet aggressive stance and shocking performance, the car truly earned its nickname, Menace.

One thing that often hurts classic American muscle cars is curb weight. While a beefy V8 helps, so does shedding some of the excess. SpeedKore really went after that by using carbon fiber for the hood, front fenders, valance, front bumper, and header panel. That’s not exactly cheap stuff, especially when you figure the car also gained a reinforced subframe for improved rigidity, plus Dynamat soundproofing and engine upgrades. When all was said and done, the Plymouth tipped the scale at just 3,400 pounds.

Taking full advantage of that low curb weight is a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 blueprinted by Wegner Motorsports. A 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger adds plenty of boost and that whine that’s like a mating call for enthusiasts.

Plenty of design changes smoothed out the body of this ‘Cuda. Among them was the elimination of the window and drip rail moldings. Instead of the factory door handles, pockets in the rear quarter panels house switches to open the doors, like a C7 Corvette. Custom exhaust bezels are also located in the quarter panels.

Kevin Hart is quite the American muscle connoisseur. He famously bought classic American muscle cars for his entire tour crew at the end of last year. Hart regularly posts on Instagram photos of his cars, especially a beautiful 1966 Pontiac GTO Convertible and a first generation Chevrolet Camaro. He joins good company as a comedian who’s infatuated with cars, like Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno.
