Peel Out In This Banana Yellow 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T

GAA Classic Car Auctions will be having their next event from Thursday, July 25, 2019 through Saturday, July 27, 2019. Over 600 vehicles are scheduled to be at the no-reserve auction, including some pieces of classic memorabilia. The stunning yellow 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T you see here is set to run on that Saturday, along with 194 other vehicles. Right off the bat, it’s the high-impact Top Banana paint job that really catches the eye, followed by the iconic body lines and black R/T pinstriping.

Top Banana debuted in 1970 is the longest enduring of all high-impact paint codes. It lasted four model years until 1973, the final phase out of the muscle car era. The color quickly appealed to the masses and quickly became a popular color option, especially for high-end performance cars. Dodge brought back the beloved Top Banana color to its 2006 lineup on the Charger Daytona R/T, but has since replaced the name with Yellow Jacket.

Although there are only a few images present, it’s not hard to see that this 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T model is in great condition. The paint appears vibrant, smooth and devoid of any major chips or blemishes. The interior looks clean and no unusual wear and tear is visible. It seems as though the previous owner really took care of the car and gave it the TLC it deserves. The black vinyl high-back bucket seats look as comfortable as they do spotless. The wooden center console, dashboard, and door panels are a nice touch to the otherwise black cabin. This model comes equipped from the factory with a tachometer, AM/FM cassette stereo, power steering, and Rallye instrument cluster package. The owner states that there are 59,000 miles showing on the odometer.

This bad boy is definitely a head-turner at car shows when it’s just standing still. The Rallye wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich radial T/A tires alone give this muscle car a track-ready appearance. But wait until you pop that hood open and show off the good stuff. This model is powered by the 383 Magnum engine paired to a heavy-duty 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Other features include a four-barrel carburetor, dual exhaust with chrome tips, and hood tie-down pins.
