With just over 23,000 miles, this Z28 is a gem.

Though it doesn’t have as commanding of a presence as the original model, the second-generation of Chevrolet’s Camaro is one of my favorite designs in the model’s history. For those who are skeptics of the 2nd gen of the Camaro’s styling, just take a look at this handsome 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28, and you may become a believer.

Canyon State Classics in Mesa, Arizona offers this Camaro for sale. This vehicle entered a collection early on in its life, and as a result, was always garage kept and carefully driven.

The exterior on this Camaro is in excellent shape, with the seller noting the body is “arrow straight,” and also adding that the all of the glass is in excellent condition and the T-tops do not leak whatsoever. At one point, the exterior received a paint respray in the Midnight Black color, and the proper exterior graphics were also applied at that point. Currently, this example features the factory option turbine-style wheels, but the seller includes the original 5-spoke wheels with the sale.

Inside the cabin, you’ll find a black cloth interior that is in excellent shape, with minimal wear to the dashboard, carpet, steering wheel and more. This example still utilizes the original radio and also features an option for an air conditioning delete. Last but not least, the original GM rubber floormats have never seen use, and the sale also includes the factory T-top bags.

There’s a 350 cubic-inch V8 under the hood, and it pairs to a smooth shifting 4-speed manual transmission to drive the rear wheels. The drivetrain only has 23,000 miles on it, and as you can imagine, it runs and drives great. In fact, the seller states, “This Z28 is a blast to rip through the gears with the t-tops popped on any day!”

Canyon State Classics mentions that this specific Camaro is becoming nearly as popular among collectors as the similar Pontiac Trans Am Bandit. Could you see yourself adding this Camaro to your collection?
