Custom 2013 Dodge Challenger Daytona Sells For $42.5K

The 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona might be one of the most iconic Mopars ever made, but adding one to your collection will set you back an amount well into the six-figure range. That's where custom builds like this modified 2013 Dodge Challenger comes in handy.

With less than 2,000 miles on the odometer, this Charger Daytona lookalike is really unique car for any Mopar lover, and this one was recently sold through GAA Classic Cars for $42,500.

The car started life as a 2013 Dodge Challenger, but if the current Challenger's body isn't retro enough, this body kit definitely has a look of what '60s NASCAR was all about. Up front, this Challenger gets the Daytona's aero-tuned look with a sloped nose cone and pop-up headlights. As one would expect, the modern-day Daytona also has a massive rear spoiler as well as a contrasting rear body stripe. Inside, this car gets a custom red-and-white leather interior to match the exterior, and even the engine compartment has been color matched with a red and white engine cover.

This isn't just a show car either. Not only is it powered by the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, it also came from the factory with the Super Track Pack that added stickier tires, upgraded suspension, heavy-duty brakes and sportier steering. For added performance, this car has also been upgraded to include a strut brace and cold air intake. And to top things off, this car is still like new with the aforementioned mileage reading of just 1,867 miles!

This unique Dodge Challenger was sold through GAA Classic Cars Auction as part of the impressive 46-car George Shinn Collection last weekend, and the entire collection ended up selling for just under $2 million.
