With a manual transmission, roll bar, KC lights, and beefy tires, this is a fantastic example of one of the era’s best pickup trucks.

In the mid-‘80s, Toyota established itself as arguably the best compact truck manufacturer on the market. With plenty of capability, reliability and simple but handsome styling, Toyota had something special on its hands, but many these trucks succumbed to rust issues, meaning a clean example holds its value strongly in today’s market. Fortunately, this 1986 Toyota Pickup SR5 Turbo 4x4 is extremely well cared for and clean, making it an excellent specimen of a rare Toyota truck variant.

Canyon State Classics in Tempe, Arizona offers this immaculate standard cab Toyota pickup for sale. This is a two-owner truck that has spent its entire life in Arizona. Additionally, the truck received a full restoration, at which time the frame received a cleaning and painting, there was paintwork with the vehicle’s glass removed, and the interior was refurbished.

Even before its restoration, the exterior of this truck was rust free. With the exception of some paintless dent removal, this truck required no bodywork prior to its paint respray in its original Dark Grey Metallic color. Additionally, after the completion of the paint and bodywork, the proper SR5 Turbo graphics were re-applied.

Inside the cabin, you’ll find an all-original theme that is completely intact, down to the factory jack set. The bucket seats feature new upholstery in the factory pattern, while a new and refinished center console and dashboard replace the original items.

One of the most interesting things about this truck is the 22R-TE engine, which is a turbocharged version of Toyota’s venerable 22R-E 2.4-liter 4-cylinder powerplant. You could never tell this truck has 119,000 miles on the odometer, and the engine recently received maintenance, so there will be plenty of 22R-TE spoolin’ in this truck’s future. As another bonus, the running and driving truck features a 5-speed manual gearbox.

With plenty of service history that exclusive to Toyota dealerships and specialty shops, this well-maintained Toyota truck is a very special piece of the company’s history. You’ll be hard-pressed to find another turbo variant in this condition, so do not pass up an opportunity to own this one.
