After its debut success last year, the Restoration Theatre returns.

Motorclassica has become Australasia’s premier event for classic, vintage, and exotic cars, and motorcycles too. The event attracts some of the most beautiful and prestigious vehicles from collections around Australia and beyond. Last year marked the first-ever Live Restoration Theatre at the ninth year of Motorclassica. Following its initial success at the 2018 event, the Restoration Theatre will return for the 2019 edition of Motorclassica. This year celebrates the 10th year of the show, and is set to take place from October 11 through October 13. The three-day celebration will be hosted in the world heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Building and its surrounds. More than 500 vehicles are expected, along with fine food and wine, cinema, educational displays, and over 100 trade exhibitors.

Motorclassica’s Live Restoration Theatre will, once again, spotlight five separate live and concurrent demonstrations. Each one will feature different aspects of the vehicle restoration process, presented by Maskell’s Customs and Classics. The Theatre will be hosted by renowned coachbuilder Brian Tanti and restorer Greg Maskell. The duo will educate and entertain the audience with demos that highlight the unique skills needed to revive older vehicles. Both Tanti and Maskell will be on hand to answer any question showgoers may have and offer advice with each session.

The Live Restoration Theatre will also include a mobile Paint Booth. Demos will be live-streamed to the audience watching on the screens inside the Royal Exhibition Building. Panel beating, paint preparation, reassembly, and mechanical reconditioning are among the topics to be demonstrated at the display. The Restoration Theatre will include a Jaguar barn find that was displayed at Motorclassica 2018, which will undergo extensive panel beating work. A 1965 Mustang convertible is also confirmed to come to life in the assembly portion.
