Here's a Fiero that you can be "very proud" to own!

With all of the talk about the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8, it's hard not to think about GM's last mid-engine car: the Pontiac Fiero. While many cars from the '80s have soared in prices, the Fiero remains a surprisingly affordable classic from this time period, which is proven by this low-mileage 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT being sold by Streetside Classics of Phoenix for just $13,995.

The term time capsule probably gets thrown around a little too much these days, but that's the best way to describe this 1987 Fiero GT with only 13,128 actual miles on the odometer. The two-seat interior is about as spotless as you'll find a Fiero these days, and everything is original right down to the AM/FM/Cassette stereo system. On the outside, the Medium Metallic Red over silver two-tone paint job is in incredible shape, and the snowflake wheels give this car the perfect Pontiac look. Speaking of the look of the Fiero, this car up for sale is the sportier looking Fiero GT that received a more aerodynamic front end and a fastback look at the rear.

Although the base engine was GM's Iron Duke 2.5-liter four-cylinder, the Fiero GT used a more powerful fuel-injected 2.8-liter V-6 rated at 140-horsepower – that might not seem like a lot, but this car was smaller and lighter than the 240-horsepower Corvette from 1987. The Fiero was introduced in 1983, but it turns out the 1987 model year was its second to last as the car was cancelled following the 1988 model year. While these cars might not be rare, they are getting much rarer to find in a condition as good as this car is in.
