Formerly owned by former NASCAR driver, Bud Moore

In addition cool cars like a Saleen Challenger and custom Bronco, another vehicle being auctioned off from the vast George Shinn Collection is this awesome 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air stock car. Although the car's actual racing history is unknown, this '57 Chevy was previously owned by former NASCAR driver, "Little" Bud Moore, who passed away in 2017 – not to be confused with NASCAR Hall of Famer and former driver, crew chief and team owner, Bud Moore who also passed away that same year.

Like other cars from Shinn's collection, the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air stock car will be auctioned off at no reserve by GAA Classic Cars, and a portion of the seller's proceeds will be donated to benefit the ALS Association.

This '57 Chevy certainly has a cool look to it mixing the car's unmistakable style with a race-ready stock car look. This car isn't just for show, though. Under the hood is a race-built 283 CID V-8 backed by a manual transmission and heavy-duty rear end, and the chassis has been reinforced. The interior is also ready for the track with a full roll cage.

Most of "Little" Bud Moore's racing career took occurred from 1964 through 1968 driving for various teams with Ford, Plymouth and Dodge cars; his final race was at the 1973 Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. Over his NASCAR racing career, he never won a race, but he did manage 19 top 10 finishes and even a pole at the Greenville-Pickens Speedway – just a few hours from his hometown of Charleston, South Carolina.
