Satisfy your need for speed with the good looks to boot.

Streetside Classics is pleased to announce this stunning, classic 1951 Ford Anglia for sale. Shortly before the outbreak of World War II, Ford announced an update of its Y-series and that car would become known as the Anglia. While literally speaking this could be classified as a panel van, it’s like no panel van you’ve ever come in contact with before. The Anglia is a UK-built commercial panel van from the late 1940s made by Ford of Great Britain for the European and North American markets. The E494A was produced from 1949 through until 1953, which is the model you see here. Although the vehicle was available in North America, the E494A Anglia was not very popular in the States.

The vehicle’s high-impact exterior color combination and impressive accelerative ability puts the Ford Anglia in very rare company. Get behind the wheel of this one-of-a-kind Ford, step on the gas pedal, and you’ll get the first-hand experience into just how satisfying this car really is–thanks to the outstanding range of added performance components. The current asking price on this 1951 Ford Anglia is set at $34,995, and you can make an offer on the car right here.

There’s no doubt about it; street rods are always going to get plenty of attention and curb appeal everywhere they go. This ’51, though, is far beyond the norm in terms of form, fitment, and the impeccable finish. The exterior is dressed in a stunning black coat with contrasting flames down the lengths of its hood and sides. Performance-centric components give the car its rocket-like performance can be seen rising from the center of the fiberglass hood, which opens easily via a button release. This Anglia sports a modified take on vintage styling that blends seamlessly with the track-oriented parts, like a supercharger blower, oversized wheels on all ends, and ambulance doors in the back.

The minimalistic interior boasts some well-chosen details like a pair of cloth racing bucket seats, aluminum floor, and clean door panels. A compact aftermarket steering wheels sits on a tilt column, while an assortment of white-faced gauges can be found in the dashboard to monitor important driving functions. Just below that, the long-stemmed shifter sits within easy reach shift with ease through the paces. Behind the bucket seats is a nicely finished wood panel floor that covers the relocated battery just below it.

The heart and soul of this 1951 Ford Anglia is a 350 cubic-inch V8 motor armed to the teeth with a Weiand blower, performance cam, and a pair of 4-barrel Edelbrock carbs to maximize the power output as it is mated to a three-speed TCI transmission. Other performance goodies include a Flowmaster dual exhaust, aftermarket headers, aluminum radiator, and electric fan. This skillfully modified street rod sits on a modern Chevy S10 chassis that provides coils up front to pair with the multi-link suspension system at the back. What’s more, the fenders have been widened to accommodate the sizable 29/18.50/15 Mickey Thompson tires. This ’51 Anglia is also equipped with power steering for easy maneuverability, and disc brakes to help with prompt and fade-resistant stops.
