That's right! This classic van has a floor-mounted, four-speed shifter!

Back in the '60s and '70s, vans like this 1979 Ford Econoline Club Wagon weren't just family haulers or work vehicles; they were lifestyle vehicles that were perfect for customizing and hanging out with your closest friends. While it's not uncommon to find some of these vans surviving today with custom interiors and paint jobs, you're probably not going to find many like the one currently being sold by GR Auto Gallery.

That's because of this Club Wagon's three pedals and the floor-mounted, four-speed shifter tucked between the front seats. Yes, this big van has a manual transmission, and adding even more rarity/oddity, there's a 300 CID inline-six under the hood! Since full-size vans were designed as work vehicles, it's no surprise that this one is rocking a manual transmission. What is a surprise, though, is the amazing condition of this van after 40 years.

The exterior is painted in a '70s-appropriate Medium Tan Metallic, which is showing minor wear but still lets this van be a solid 10-footer, and the pained bumpers, steel wheels and rear-mounted spare tire finish off the van's original look. Inside, this van is just as clean with a surprisingly well-preserved cabin, and yes, it's rocking shag carpet, too! This Club Wagon would not only make for a unique family hauler, but it would also make for an incredible vehicle for anyone looking to live the increasingly popular van lifestyle.

Back in 1979, this Club Wagon was about as basic as you could get this van, but today, it's a six-cylinder, four-speed survivor van. GR Auto Gallery has this amazingly cool Club Wagon listed for just $9,900, but you can make an offer on this van by clicking HERE.
