This Chevy was driven by Lucas Black in the film.

Movie cars always garner a lot of interest when they go up for sale, but cars featured in the Fast and Furious movies tend to get even more attention. While the Dodge Charger might be the most popular American car from the film franchise, this 1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo featured in the beginning of 2006's The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is still an impressive car. And this movie-used hero car is up for sale by Volo Auto Sales.

This American muscle car is used early in the movie by the protagonist, who is portrayed by Lucas Black. The race scene pits this Monte Carlo against a Dodge Viper, but the car's screen time ends up being destroyed in a violent rollover. Fortunately, the only damage on this car is the broken rear window, which was caused by the antagonistic high schooler throwing a baseball through glass.

The video below shows the movie's initial chase scene, and it's actually one of the better chase scenes from the early Fast and Furious movies.

Although it looks like a beater from the outside, this Monte Carlo is more of a racecar than anything. Under the hood is a 400 CID V8 that has been built up with an aggressive cam, while the interior has been stripped out and has a semi-hidden roll cage. The NASCAR-style tires, racing harnesses and rear fuel cell round out the this car's major modifications.

According to the listing, Universal Studios is no longer selling movie cars off to the public for liability reasons, so cars like this will only continue to get more rare. The buyer of this car will get a title and certificate of authenticity from the studio, and the car has also been signed by its builder, Dennis McCarthy.
