Any enthusiast knows the distinct curves of the Shelby Daytona Coupe, a racecar famous for taking down many heavy-hitters from its time. While purchasing one of the few original cars is probably out of reach financially, this 1965 Shelby Daytona Coupe Factory Five is far more affordable. Press on the accelerator and you’ll feel the new Blueprint 408ci Stroker V8 crate engine surge to life. A Tremec 5-speed manual transmission allows you to row through the gears with precision, a huge plus in the fun department. All you need to do at a meet is show off the big engine with polished aluminum Ford Racing valve covers, plus other polished and billet aluminum components and jet coated headers, and you’ll instantly have many admirers standing around the car.

Putting all that power to the wheels is a Ford 8.8-inch rear with posi. Wilwood cross-drilled and slotted disc brakes with 6-piston calipers up front help greatly with control, as does power steering. An electric fan helps prevent overheating, especially as you drive around town.

While this is a performance vehicle, the interior is pretty cushy. The polished door sills have “Daytona” etched into them, which is a nice touch. Both bucket seats are covered with soft leather upholstery and sport 4-point camlock harnesses for extra security. The flat-bottom, custom aluminum steering wheel has also been wrapped in leather. Vintage Air AC is great for when the weather turns hot. All controls are made of billet aluminum, giving them a substantial feel. Also included in this car are cup holders, a stereo system, and even a white Hurst shifter knob.
