Far more than the paint has been upgraded.

Promising a dramatic entrance literally everywhere you go, this 1973 Chevrolet Corvette wears a custom flamed paint job. It transforms from white on the nose all the way to nice maroon, with plenty of yellow and orange flames in between. This car, which is being auctioned off by GAA Classic Cars, packs some serious performance upgrades as well, really spicing things up.

Gnarly side pipes that exit right before the rear wheels, connected to some pretty serious headers is the first indication this is no run-of-the-mill C3. Instead of the stock motor under that long hood, there’s a 383ci stroker V8, which hits pretty hard with a nice 4bbl carb. After all, you need something serious to back up such a flamboyant paint job, and the engine certainly does that and more. In addition, chrome and polished components under the hood abound, making this a true show car.

You get to row through the gears using a slick 5-speed manual transmission, helping to ensure you get a real sports car experience. This Chevy rolls on staggered Boyd Coddington wheels, with 18-inch wheels in the front and 20-inch in the rear. Power steering and power four-wheel disc brakes help you wrestle the beast while an aluminum radiator with electric fans keeps her from overheating.

You get some nice comforts with this performance machine, like air conditioning from Vintage Air and custom black leather bucket seats. The stereo not only has AM and FM radio, it has a CD player and USB port so you can play music from your phone or another device. Get really comfortable using a wild custom steering wheel with a tilt column, which actually helps tie the exterior to the interior quite well.

While not everyone will be drawn to this C3 Corvette, it could still prove to be pretty popular. One thing’s for sure: there’s a lot of performance packed in this car. You can register to bid on it and maybe walk away with an amazing addition to your garage.
