This 'Cuda looks legit.

Talk to any car lover, and the mention of a Hemi 'Cuda is usually enough to get any gearhead's oil racing! The reason is that Hemi 'Cudas are both extremely rare and very expensive, but if you're looking for a more budget-friendly way to get one of these mean Mopars parked in your driveway, then check out this 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda Tribute being auctioned off through GAA Classic Cars.

Restored 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda Tribute Has Six-Figure Style

This beautiful car is fresh off an extensive restoration that took seven years to complete. On the outside, this 'Cuda wears a Bright Blue Metallic paint job with a shaker hood, black power soft top and Magnum 500 wheels wrapped in Firestone vintage tires. The all-white interior is all new and looks amazing, and the wood-grain steering wheel and pistol-grip shifter add even more style and attitude to this interior. The 'Cuda's looks are backed up by the 426 Hemi V8 under the hood with dual four-barrel carbs, and this engine is paired with a four-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels through a Dana 60 rear axle.

With this info, it's easy to see why someone created a tribute as only five four-speed Hemi 'Cuda Convertibles were built in 1970, but without knowing the VIN, it isn't clear to what extent this car is a tribute. It could be a base Barracuda done up to look like a 'Cuda (since only cars with the "BS" to start the VIN are actually a 'Cuda) or it could be a legit 'Cuda that just didn't start life as a Hemi (other 'Cuda engine options included the 340, 383, 440 with a four pack and 440 with a six pack). Either way, this car looks every bit the part of a rare Hemi 'Cuda convertible. Regardless of what it was originally, this car is still quite rare as fewer than 3,000 Barracuda/'Cuda convertibles were produced in 1970.
