This first-gen specimen has plenty of attitude.

People go absolutely crazy over the first generation of Ford Broncos, and it’s easy to see why. After all, they’re pure off-roaders, not some bloated luxury barge which happens to have four-wheel drive. While that simplicity is great, pumping it up with some attitude turns out to be a great move, as plainly demonstrated by this 1976 Ford Bronco being sold by Streetside Classics.

Pairing up rather nicely is the shiny gray paint, silver accents, and black treatments on the bumpers, roll bar, and tailgate logo. The grille has been painted to match the body. Topping off the aggressive exterior looks are 15-inch Pacer wheels and large tires with aggressive lugs for that added grip you need on the trail.

Plenty of original details in the simple interior plus cream door and dash accents make for a fun, retro ride. Everything is in good condition, especially the front carpeting and seat upholstery, while in the rear is a new Corbeau bench seat mounted over the bedliner. Keeping that original vibe alive is a classic-looking knob-style AM/FM/cassette radio, which also has an auxiliary input for a mobile device. Another clever touch comes with the Tom’s Bronco Parts shifters.

Whoever grabs this classic Ford Bronco will be getting plenty of extra goodies. A new Rampage soft top with tinted side windows is included for when you want an open-air experience but the weather is a little dicey. To change things up theres’s a color-matched pickup hardtop included, completely changing the look of the Bronco and adding more protection in especially cold weather.

This vehicle really brings it when it comes to performance, thanks to strategic upgrades like a Holley 4bbl carb and an Edelbrock Performer 289 intake. The only thing more impressive than feeling the power of the 289ci V8 is to pop the hood and admire how clean everything is. Plus this ride comes with a five-speed manual, Warn locking front hubs, and a two-speed transfer case for playing in the dirt. If that’s not enough to tempt you, hearing the dual exhaust could be key. Obviously, the previous owner paid plenty of attention to the mechanicals on this truck and not just its looks.

With the 2020 Ford Bronco reveal coming up soon, this is a great time to grab a first-gen model. Values have been rising steadily in recent years, but the return of the legendary off-roader to the new vehicle market should generate even more demand for the classics.
