This custom Dodge Challenger puts out about 1,100-horsepower.

AAPEX, or Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo, is held in Las Vegas every year concurrent to the SEMA show in early November. This year, AAPEX ran from November 7th through November 9th and offered plenty of opportunities to network with like-minded enthusiasts and see some of the hottest automotive products soon to hit the market.

This year, somebody went home with a brand new Dodge Challenger that was custom-built by Petty's Garage. This was all part of the "Drive With The Original" technician promotion where contestants entered to try their luck at taking home a one-of-a-kind-prize. Mahle unveiled the custom ride on November 5th to winner James Pickles, a technician at J & J Automotive, Inc. outo of Rhinebeck, New York. "I've never won anything anywhere close to this in my life! It's phenomenal."

The four finalists for the car included Jason Harrington of Auto & Truck (Yale, Michigan), James Pickles of J & J Automotive, Inc. (Rhinebeck, New York), Chance Powing of Michel Bros (Reno, Nevada), and Bill Zeromski of Bill Z.'s Auto & Truck (Harshaw, Wisconsin).

These four finalists were chosen randomly out of of all of the entries received in the promotion. All were given the trip to Las Vegas to be a part of the ceremony to reveal the grand prize to the lucky winner.

Pickles didn't just win a normal Dodge Challenger. Since Petty's Garage custom built this Dodge Challenger to give away, it is safe to say that it is packing some heat in the performance department. This Mopar puts down about 1,100-horsepower and is equipped with all kinds of custom goodies and modifications.

Even more, Richard Petty, "The King" himself, was present during the ceremony where the finalists were given keys to see which one would start the Dodge Challenger. Other prizes during the promotion included the Richard Petty Driving Experience, signed Richard Petty Charlie One Horse cowboy hats, #43 die-case model cars that have been autographed, and other prizes.
