Retro-Styled C6 'Vette Packs A Supercharged LS3

The 1963 split-window coupe is the most recognizable – and perhaps desirable – of all Corvette body styles, so it's no surprise this iconic design is often imitated. To even the casual automobile enthusiast, there's no pretending that this 2011 Chevrolet Corvette is actually a legit '63 split-window, but this custom creation is still a high-quality Corvette that will get plenty of looks on the street or at the car show.

Although this car started life as a 2011 Corvette, the body kit from Karl Kustom Corvette (KKC) gives it the distinct look of a 1963 coupe from the bullet-shaped front end with pop-up headlights to the split-window rear end design. The biggest telltale signs that this is a C6 (2005-13) Corvette include the hidden door handles, recognizable window rake and the quartet of center-mounted exhaust outlets. Being a C6, this vintage-looking 'Vette has all of the conveniences of a late-model Corvette such as the removable top panel that easily stores in the cargo area – yes, unlike a real C2 (1963-67) coupe, this Corvette features an opening hatch with plenty of available cargo space making it great for heading to car shows or venturing out on road trips. 

As fun as this car is just to look at, this particular example should be an absolute blast to drive! That's thanks to Lingenfelter supercharger strapped on top of the Corvette's factory 6.2-liter LS3 V8, which pairs to the car's original automatic transmission. KKC was a division of Karl Chevrolet of Des Moines, Iowa, but the custom shop no longer cranks out rebodied Corvettes (Karl Kustoms will sell you just about anything performance related for your Chevrolet, though).
