The news that Jeep enthusiasts have been waiting years for!

Corvette lovers have Bowling Green and Harley-Davidson lovers have Milwaukee, and soon Jeep fanatics will have their own museum to visit in Toledo, Ohio. A non-profit organization announced plans for The Jeep Experience in the metropolitan Toledo area, and it has received backing from a Toledo-based health care company, ProMedica, and support from Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles.

While the details of the museum itself are scarce (including an exact location), the announcement said that the museum will directly create 25 jobs for Toledo. More importantly, the museum is expected to draw in around 250,000 visitors per year and earn about $6 million in direct revenue annually. These figures don't even account for any other tourism brought to the area for events such as Toledo Jeep Fest, which attracted 100,000 visitors earlier this summer.

The group used the National Corvette Museum and the Harley-Davidson Museum as a model for The Jeep Experience. That means it will be an entertainment destination for all ages, and in addition to an area dedicated to the history of the Jeep and the Jeep brand, plans include off-road trails and a Jeep-themed restaurant; there are even talks of building a hotel near the museum.

Toledo, Ohio has been building Jeeps since World War II including all Wranglers since 1987, and the Toledo Complex is where the current JL Wrangler and Gladiator pickup truck are produced.

"There are no more passionate fans of an automotive brand than Jeep®, so we are thrilled by this initiative to honor the heritage of such an iconic brand, and celebrate the women and men who have dedicated their lives to building these vehicles for nearly 80 years. We look forward to working with Toledo community leaders to bring this interactive Jeep experience to life," FCA said in a statement.
