A mere 51 1957 Chevy Corvettes were produced with the RPO 684 Heavy Duty Racing Suspension package like what this car has, making this a rare bird to collect. This factory option is key to the history of America’s sports car, since it was one of the early movements by Chief Engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov to make the Corvette a top-level performer and not just another pretty car.

Also included in this vehicle is optional Rochester fuel injection for the 283ci small block V8 and a BorgWarner T-10 4-speed manual transmission. Special heavy-duty brakes with finned drums, ventilated backing plates with screened intake scoops, and segmented cerametallic brake linings pushed performance even further. These upgrades complement the upgraded suspension quite nicely.
