Life-Size 1957 Chevrolet Corvette Model Sells For Under $11K

A 1957 Chevrolet Corvette can easily set you back close to (or more than) $100,000, but this super-clean example of a C1 'Vette just sold at Mecum through Orlando Classic Cars for less than $11,000. The main caveat here, though, is that this particular is just a full-scale model, and it lacks Corvette details such as an engine, transmission or an actual VIN – the important stuff. Still, with an auction price of $10,620, this will certainly make for a guaranteed conversation starter around any business, shop or garage.

What you get is a 1:1 scale C1 Corvette that looks just like the real deal, and it would be a great conversation piece around your business, shop or garage. This prop doesn't have a drivetrain, suspension or frame, but it's wheels do spin and the car is mounted on casters to make it easy to move around. It isn't clear if the hood, trunk or doors are functional, but this car will definitely get attention wherever it's parked.

From the outside, this model show great detail with all of the lines and details of a production Corvette. That includes the wraparound windshield, two-tone paint and even accurate chrome work. Whoever built this display car paid just as much attention to the interior with correct detail on the instrument panel and seats. In fact, if it wasn't for the lack of a shifter, this Corvette looks like you could jump in it and take it for a spin!

This full-scale 1957 Corvette was previously on display in the '57 Heaven Museum in Branson, Missouri, which shut down in 2009, and it would be a perfect acquisition for a restaurant, museum or just a diehard Corvette collector looking for a truly unique piece of art. It has all the style of a '57 Corvette at just a fraction of the price!
