Own The Road In This 1954 Jaguar XK120

This vintage Jaguar was built specifically for the California Mille road rally.

In the post-war automotive world, the Jaguar XK120 represented the pinnacle of driving performance to the point that the "120" in its name stood for its 120 miles per hour top speed, which made it the fastest car of its time. This Jaguar was built from 1949 until 1954, and this final-year example of an XK12 might be one of the most sophisticated you're likely to find. The XK120 was already a fine example of motoring superiority with a lengthy history of endurance racing, but Farland Classic Restoration looked to make this car even better on the road to take on California's premier 1,000-mile, four-day driving event. Rather than a restoration, this Jaguar was given a transformation from a numbers-matching show car to the car you see here today. As such, it's Concours-accurate vintage car, but instead it's an iconic Jaguar ready for driving adventure.

For this transformation, the XK120 received numerous upgrades that include a rebuilt, tuned and balanced engine, a Getrag five-speed manual gearbox, four-wheel disc brakes and a rack and pinion steering system from the later Jaguar XK140. Visually, this Jaguar wears a show-quality black paint job with D-Type wheels and faired-in rear fenders, while the interior is finished in gorgeous tan leather including special seats with custom leather trim and thick side bolstering. The entire transformation of this 1954 Jaguar XK120 was fully documented, and the car comes with several large binders of receipts and hundreds of photos.
