Proof that C2 Corvettes are hotter than ever!

The mid- to late-'60s marked the heyday for Corvette performance, and this fully restored, numbers-matching 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is like taking a time machine back to see one of these cars brand new. Following a recent complete frame-off, this Corvette sold at Mecum on Wednesday (through GT Motor Cars) for an impressive $192,500 making it the highest-priced car at the auction so far.

Looking at this Corvette, it's hard to imagine that there are any out there in better shape. The body of this car is absolutely flawless painted in the original Marina Blue with the factory correct lacquer paint, and the chrome trim, rally wheels, redline tires and black soft top are exactly how this car looked rolling off the assembly line. The interior, engine compartment and undercarriage of this Corvette are equally pristine!

What makes this car truly impressive is its rare factory options that are all verified by the original tank sticker and validated by the National Corvette Restorers Society. While many restored Corvettes add them to increase value, this car was originally equipped with rare factory options like the side exhaust and F41 HD suspension, and the 435-horsepower, 427 CID V8 engine and four-speed manual transmission are the same ones this car left the factory with back in 1967.

Last year, this 1967 Chevy Corvette was honored with a NCRS Top Flight award, and it was also Bloomington Gold Certified "OEM GOLD." Bottom line, you're not going to find many (if any) vintage Corvettes in better original condition than this one, and that was certainly backed up by its Mecum sales price.
