Swedish supercar constructor Koenigsegg made just 30 examples of CCX from 2006 through 2010, and only 13 of those were destined for the U.S. Possessing a Koenigsegg is such rarity that owners have a nickname for their elite group, and this 2008 Koenigsegg CCX being auctioned off through Bonhams is a unique chance to join the Ghost Squad.
Designed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Koenigsegg's first CC prototype, the CCX is an exquisite machine powered by a 4.7-liter V8 topped with a pair of superchargers and tuned to produce 806 horsepower and 679 lb-ft of torque. With this engine and aerodynamic design, the Koenigsegg CCX is able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in under three seconds, and it is rated with a top speed of 245 mph!
This Koenigsegg CCX is chassis no. 66, and it stands out with its silver paint job and exposed carbon fiber accents. First of all, the CCX's doors pop out and then rotate 90 degrees toward the front of the car to create a presentation that is better than any Lamborghini scissor door action. Once inside, this 2008 Koenigsegg CCX shows off its bright blue interior that is lined with a mix of leather and Alcantara. There's plenty of carbon fiber found inside the CCX including the exposed monocoque and the sport seats, and opening the rear engine cover reveals even more carbon fiber and a suspension setup that looks ready to race.
What makes this 2008 Koenigsegg CCX even more special than others is that it has been driven less than 1,200 miles since it was new, and it's been regularly serviced over the years. As such, Bonhams expects chassis no. 66 to sell for between $900,000 and $1 million.
