This is nothing like American muscle cars made today, that’s for sure.

Those ignorant of Oldsmobile’s past might laugh at the mention of muscle car bearing the badge, but they wouldn’t be laughing after experiencing this 1969 Oldsmobile 442. This fully-restored beauty hits hard both in performance and the looks department. It’s also part of the Winter AutoFest Lakeland auction being put on by Carlisle Auctions, so now is the time for action. The auction and car show are set to take place in Lakeland, Florida, Feb. 21 & 22 (car show runs Feb. 21-23).

Underneath that virtually flawless black body is a monstrous rebuilt 455ci V8 which has been bored .30 over. Also included in the setup is a W30 intake manifold and an Edelbrock carb. It’s estimated the powertrain belts out a peak 500 to 550-horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. A floor-mounted Tremec 5-speed manual transmission and a heavy-duty GM 11’ clutch help put that power to the road so you can hook up and everyone else will shut up.

Since this is a restored muscle car, there are of course some new hardware and a few nice modifications to sweeten the deal. The center console, aluminum radiator, and gas tank are all new. You don’t have to burn up in the summer, but instead can keep the windows rolled up, thanks to the installed Vintage Air AC unit. Handling should be wonderful, thanks to the rebuilt suspension and inclusion of a Camaro steering box. The seller also says this Oldsmobile cruises at highway speeds without any issues, so this car is ready to rock.

As you can see in the pictures, the black interior looks absolutely amazing. Red floormats with the 442 logo on them add a nice accent, plus they coordinate with the red wheels. There’s plenty of brightwork throughout, including around the gauges mounted under the dash and in the center console.

Carlisle Auctions has plenty of other great cars for you to check out. Plus, if you have a quality collectible vehicle you’d like to sell, they’re looking for consignments.

If you’re interested in putting this classic in your garage, now is the time to register to bid. As a bidder at the Winter AutoFest auction, you and one guest receive full access to our hospitality area both days of the auction.
