Restomods are known for combining classic and modern components that usually result in a unique and wild build. On that note, hardcore traditionalists may want to stop reading now. GAA Classic Cars is sending this incredible 1956 Ford F100 delivery truck across the virtual auction block on Friday, February 28th. This blended panel truck was given the treatment down to the smallest nut and bolt. According to the listing, the restoration took 2 and a half years with over $250,000 invested.
Sitting on a custom-built frame, all of the original Henry steel has been sprayed in a shiny gray hue by Standoff Paint called Fifty Shades of Gray. The front fender well openings have been raised and moved forward. Smooth stainless steel bumpers on both ends show in perfect condition, and the truck is adorned with Shelby badging. The truck sits on a set of Ford Shelby SVT wheels (19x10 front, 20x13 rear) that are wrapped with Continental Contact rubber (285/30 front, 335/25 rear).
What's even more impressive is what's stuffed inside the engine bay. This '56 Ford is powered by a modern all-aluminum Ford Racing 5.4-liter V8 engine equipped with an Eaton supercharger and intercooler. This combination generates an output of 520-horsepower to the wheels. Power is sent to through a Shelby Mustang rear axle via a Shelby 6-speed manual transmission. Adding even more rumble and performance is a Magnaflow custom exhaust complete with side exits.
Baer power disc brakes on all four corners bring everything to a halt. The thirst for fuel is fed by a Rick's Tanks stainless steel fuel tank, and handling comes from a 4-link rear suspension with QA1 coil overs all around.
Open the doors to reveal a beautiful black leather and tweed interior in the form of a factory bench seat. Peak behind the seat to a beautiful custom Oak wood floor broken up by stainless steel strips. More interior highlights include heat and air conditioning, Ididit steering column, classic Dakota instrument gauges, wood grip Banjo steering wheel, and power rack and pinion steering. Also, this truck roars to life with the touch of a button.
This '56 Ford F100 delivery truck has been featured in several magazine articles, and it has graced multiple covers and centerfolds. If interested in this beautiful ride, make sure to mark your calendars and register to bid here through GAA Classic Cars. Don't miss out on the opportunity to own this unique and powerful ride.
