This Italian-American sports car is the real deal.

From 1970 to 1992 the world was blessed with an Italian sports car using an American heart. This 1973 De Tomaso Pantera is an early example of the exotic beauty which wowed enthusiasts back in the day and still has them swooning now. The good news is this car isn’t just something to admire and that’s all, because Carlisle Auctions is sending this ride to the auction block. It’s part of the Winter AutoFest Lakeland auction, so now is the time for action. The auction and car show are set to take place in Lakeland, Florida, Feb. 21 & 22 (car show runs Feb. 21-23).

At first glance in the shade someone might mistake this Pantera for a black car. But as the light strikes those undeniably alluring body panels and subtle upgrades, it’s obviously covered in a striking shade of Wine. That choice complements the black interior quite well, so you get a ride which is attractive in every way.

You’d expect a car which looks this sleek to be fast. Thankfully you won’t be let down by this beast. A 514ci Ford V8 hits hard, while the freshly rebuilt ZF transmission and four new Michelin Pilot Sport tires help transfer that power into rubber-roasting fun. This car runs on 93 octane pump gas, so you can feed it well and reap the benefits. The front and rear suspension are all new and made of billet aluminum, ensuring a responsive ride. And while classic Panteras are notorious for overheating, this one has a new Fluidyne radiator and upgrades to the cooling system so you don’t need to worry.

Carlisle Auctions is offering other great cars for you to bid on. If you already have one you want to sell, they’re looking for consignments.

To garage this awesome Pantera, you first need to register to bid. As a bidder at the Winter AutoFest auction, you and one guest receive full access to our hospitality area both days of the auction. You also get two multi-day passes to Winter AutoFest, an automotive flea market, car corral and car show event. Additional guest passes for the auction are available for $50.00 each.

Special offer for bidders - call (717) 960-6400 and use promo code FLORIDA50 to receive $50 off a bidder’s registration!
