Make Offer Questions?Built at their Fort Wayne, Indiana facility, International built the Scout which was a off-road vehicle for nearly twenty years from 1961 through 1980. It was offered in several different variants and a couple design changes throughout the years. You could get it in a full length roof, half-cab pickup or soft-top. They even offered a couple different varieties of Hard-top that were offered by different manufacturers. International saw a need to compete with Jeep during the early years and then the likes of Ford with the Bronco, Chevrolet with the Blazer and Toyota with the Land Cruiser as everyone was trying to figure out market share of 4-WD vehicles. This particular 800A is remarkably dry and rust free and comes to us from a good customer that brought it back from the dry California desert. It has had a re-paint at some point but does not appear to have had any sheet metal work or rust repair. Again, very strait and solid which is extremely rare. It still has its original 4-cylinder engine that operates as it should with a nice shifting transmission. At this price, you could modify it, restore it to original or just drive it as is which is my preference. The hard-top is in nice condition as well. Wipers work as does the heat.
