The transformation of this car took place at Lowrey Auto Restoration in Tilton, New Hampshire. The external modifications are subtle, with the chopped top being the most obvious. Mercedes Blue was chosen for the paint, continuing the understated theme.
Modifications under the skin were far more significant. A completely new chassis from TCI includes Wilwood disc brakes, independent front suspension, and a TCI four-link with coilovers in the rear.
Power is supplied by a GM Performance ZZ4 350, rated at 355hp, backed by a four speed 700-R4 automatic, turning a polished aluminum driveshaft, and a Currie Enterprises 9 inch rearend.
For a period look, the engine is topped with a 1957 Corvette dual quad set up, and polished Corvette valve covers.
Dave Emery in North Hampton, New Hampshire breathed new life into the interior. Dark blue leather, a bench seat, and beautifully contrasting red carpet stand out. Stewart Warner gauges, sit behind the banjo steering wheel, and a Lokar shifter, and a stock radio converted to FM round out the details.
With a magazine feature (Street Rodder May 2000), and large file of build documentation, this is a unique classic ready for your version of American Graffiti.
