Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1981 Jeep CJ7, an honest and original survivor still clad in its factory-applied copper brown metallic paint. Body is solid and straight with no known rust issues; light patina throughout with some fading on the hood and tops of the fenders, but original paint and original fiberglass hard top are otherwise remarkably well preserved. As far as we can tell, this truck spent its entire life in California and it shows. Just over 100,000 believed-to-be-original miles. Clean CarFax report with no accidents.
Interior is likewise mostly original aside from new front bucket and rear fold-and-tumble seats finished in spice. All lights and gauges are working; air conditioning system is completely intact, controls and blower work and the compressor is not seized -- however, it's still running R12 and is not blowing cold. Factory roll bar with three-point seat belts.
Under the hood is AMC's bulletproof 258 cubic inch (4.2 liter) straight six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Well-equipped with power steering and power disk brakes. Recent service includes tires, a new fuel tank, sending unit, fuel pump and carburetor. Runs and drives well.
