Make Offer Questions? The Ranger by Ford has been around since the 1983 model year and is currently in its fourth generation of midsize pick ups. The North American market did see a hiatus from the Ranger line-up for a brief time but is now back and stronger than ever. The third generation was built from 1998 through 2012. Yes, that's one heck of a run but Ford didn't want to ruin a good thing. The third generation received a ton of upgrades from generation #2 with a redesigned frame, drivetrain specs and safety features. This particular truck not only has extremely low mileage but is also a one family owned since new and has Ford pedigree like no other. This truck was ordered by retired Ranger engineer Frank Hibbard to be used directly for the SAE Conference in Asheville, NC in Spring 1998. It was ordered specifically for this event and has the documentation to back it up. It is one of five trucks that were built specifically by the Twin Cities plant with direct assistance from the plant manager. This truck would be the one they would choose after rigorous visual quality control and the M10 Road evaluation. After the show it would return to Dearborn to be used for internal reviews and then being transferred to Enviromental Testing where it was then sold New with 643 miles from Dean Seller Ford to the current owner and family. This truck remains in like new condition still sitting on the original re-called tires. I have a letter from Ford, copy of the window sticker, owners manuals and clean carfax. The Autumn orange metallic looks like new. Perfect storage always, never once driven in the rain and as clean as you will find. This is a true collector piece.
