Make Offer Questions?The H-M Vehicles Free-Way was a three wheeled micro car manufactured in Burnsville, Minnesota from 1979-1982. The HM stood for High Mileage. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present for your consideration this 1981 example. It is powered by its 16 HP 488cc 1 cylinder engine. There were 14 hp, 16hp , 4hp electric and a diesel engine were offered. The 16hp engine was said to get 60 miles per gallon.
The Free-Way was framed in with welded tubular steel with a secondary frame at bumper height to protect from impacts. The suspension was fully independent with two wheels in the front and one in the rear. The rear mounted engine was mounted behind the driver and had a snowmobile CVT like drive transmission with a chain driven rear wheel. The body is a fiberglass shell. This example is finished in yellow. This unique micro car is the perfect addition to any collection.
