Why This Car Is Special
In 1979, Jeep and it's then parent company AMC, offered a Special Edition Package for the CJs, called The Renegade Levi's Package. The package included jean-style vinyl padding on the dash and sun visors, padded roof material similar to denim jeans, replica Levi's stitching on the seats, and vinyl seat material that looked like Levi's denim.
A Levi's badge sat above the Jeep lettering on the cowl. Buyers had a choice of tan or blue materials for the interior and top. “The Levi's Package was a brilliant marketing campaign. Levi's jeans were known the world over,” Jeep advertising said, pointing out that it tied together two very American brands. Jeep offered the package all the way until 1986.

Mechanical
A 304 cubic inch V8 engine came as an option in our Jeep which is well known for its reliability, good horsepower and fuel economy. This engine not only has a great sound that lets everyone know it is a V8 under the hood, but it appears to be entirely factory stock with all the components it came with when it was brand new. The engine is backed by a stout 4-speed manual transmission.
This Jeep had a V8 and a 4-speed from the factory, so it is capable of handling the power. Four-wheel drive with power steering and power brakes make this Jeep easy to control and just as comfortable on the street as it is in the woods.
A lift kit has been added to fit the 33x12.50R15 BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires nicely under the body. They look great and add to the capability of this CJ7.
Interior
The interior Jeep on this Jeep Levi is just as Jeep intended it, utilitarian. You have the gauges you need to keep an eye on the engine, the shifters for the transmission and transfer case, and a couple of Levi's clad bucket seats in the front and two more in the rear.
The interior area is painted in the body color matched paint of blue and has the roll bar, rubber floor mats, custom stereo system, and the Bimini top that provides shade for you and your passenger
Exterior
Bright Blue paint always looks good on a Jeep, and ours comes in the Levi's Blue shade. It has the Blue Levi's Renegade decals on the hood as well as Levi's lettering, decals, and lower side stripes.
This Jeep looks tough with the BF Goodrich All Terrain TA tires mounted on chrome mag wheels with the lift kit needed to clearance the big meats. It features fender flares on all four corners to keep the mud off the paint.
A heavy-duty rear swing gate holds the spare tire in place and has a custom tire cover over the spare tire.
Conclusion
The Jeep CJ or “Civilian Jeep” is the predecessor to the Jeep Wrangler. They are tough, reliable and incredibly fun.
Whether you want a daily driver, a beach cruiser or a Jeep to tackle tough trails and rock climbing, you just found it. This Jeep CJ7 Levi's Edition Renegade was built to handle it all and it does it with that rare package to boot.
