Our 1978 Ford F-350 2wd pickup gets her good looks from the West Coast. Originally delivered to California and sold new by Fairway Ford of Placentia, California on July 12th, 1978, this truck then spent time in the State of Arizona where it was most recently acquired before returning home to Southern California. Having remained in multiple dry environments throughout, the body and trim are in great shape. Refinished in its original Bright Dark Blue Metallic paint (Color Code S), the truck now presents very well, with much of its original paint throughout.
After a recent mechanical servicing, the truck's 4-barrel 460 big block V8 provides all the right power and grunt to get your shit from point A to point B. The interior and all exterior trim present well for the age; with A/C and radio working as expected.
As a 1978 model Ford Truck, squared off headlights set the tone for the final two years of Ford's Dentside generation truck. Optioned with the bright grille package up front, the truck also provides a little bit more bling than others found without. The addition of dual side mirrors (not factory) offers a more unique rear view; something we particularly enjoy seeing from time to time as an ode to the quirkiness of former ownership.
A bit of an oxymoron, the Bright Dark Blue Metallic paint represents a very classic Ford color from the era and definitely stands out in a sea of browns and greens. The included Marti Report also confirms this color and trim (Ranger XLT) was only found on 103 F-350 2WD pickups for '78. Considering the overall condition, this truck offers a handsome package for weekend runs, honey do errands and trips down to the lake with your brat of a kid only to come back empty handed without any fish.
