Welcome to RK Motors and take a look at this incredible 2013 Ridler Award Great 8 qualifier custom street rod built over 3 years by Enthusiast in Alexandria, Ohio.
This street rod is all custom-built from an American-made 1946 Chevrolet pickup. Over the top modifications with only the best components to enhance performance, appearance, and overall drivability. Built for an enthusiast that wants a combination of classic aesthetics with contemporary technology.
Customization is the name here from the custom fabricated frame to the extensively modified engine bay and suspension. Every inch of this custom has been altered and fabricated.
Under the fabricated hood, is a Chevrolet 383 V8 stroker producing 435HP. Sitting on top of that powerplant is a Rochester tri-power carb set up, all tuned to perfection. Engine build was handled by Bill Moore Motors of Eaton, Ohio. Shifting duties is by way of a TH350 automatic transmission that was built by Bob Davis Transmissions. Outback is a sturdy 10 bolt rearend.
Aesthetics is on full display being finished in Audi Daytona Gray paint that was enhanced with pearl. The interior has flame red paint with Ostrich skin vinyl bomber seat upholstery. Even the staggered lace wire wheels by Dayton are finished in flame red.
The channeled body has been worked over to include a 4" chopped roof, ultra-low lowboy style and all steel except for the custom fiberglass nose piece. Shaved drip rails, door handles, and door hinges along with a smoothed firewall and cowl vents filled in all add to the style. Let's not forget suicide door hinges, full custom hood, sides, nose, and grille. The bed floor has Pennsylvania Cherrywood while the tail pan has 3" louvers.
This mix of old and new is a defining characteristic of this 46 Chevy and is right at home at car shows and events where other street rod enthusiasts will gather to admire this creation.
