Even in its stock state of tune, the C7 is quite a formidable performance machine, but that did not stop tuning houses and enthusiasts from pushing the last-generation 'Vette to its absolute limit. Hennessey Performance is a world-renowned Corvette tuner and the company used an LT4 V8-equipped Z06 to demonstrate the prowess of its HPE850 performance upgrade. Hennessy's package includes a supercharger setup that adds 200 horses to the Corvette's total power output at the crankshaft. As part of its HPE850 upgrade, Hennessey installed high-flow cylinder heads, upgraded valve springs, custom camshaft, high-flow intake, new long-tube headers and a new lower pulley. Hennessy also claims that its HPE850 performance upgrade enables the Z06 to make a quarter-mile run in just 10.3 seconds while cruising at the speed of 136 MPH.
