The exterior finish has been meticulously restored to achieve a flawless glass-like appearance, addressing the lackluster factory paint of the 80s. The trim exhibits exceptional condition, and the glass surfaces are in impeccable shape. Adding a custom touch, the car boasts billet Grand National wheels, with a noteworthy 10-inch width at the rear to accommodate a fresh set of Nitto 275/60R15 tires.
Inside the vehicle, the original state is excellently preserved, with all gauges performing as intended. The door panels, seats, carpet, and armrests remain in superb condition, displaying minimal to no signs of wear. The headliner retains its original form and is remarkably well-maintained. The stock radio remains operational, now featuring upgraded speakers. A boost and fuel pressure gauge adorn the A-pillar, while a scan master rests atop the radio. Additional modifications include oil pressure and water temperature gauges situated below the radio. The power windows operate effortlessly.
Distinguished as the swiftest American production car in 1987, this vehicle harbors its original engine, which has been fortified with forged pistons and rods. Approximately 2000 miles ago, AES meticulously assembled the motor with ARP hardware, resulting in robust performance. On one side, the Garrett turbocharger is paired with custom headers, while the other side features a 3-inch downpipe outfitted with an electric cutout. The turbo directs air through an expansive Precision intercooler, ultimately channeling it to the polished 70 MM Precision plenum along the intake path. This journey is taken over by 50lbs injectors, igniting the impressive power sequence. Operating smoothly up to 25psi without any hint of detonation, the power delivery thrusts occupants into their seats when the boost engages. As documented on the dyno sheet, the output registers at 336hp and 538 ft-lbs of torque. Notably, the engine possesses the capacity for further enhancement, establishing this as a true sleeper with astounding speed. Enhancing the transmission's capabilities, a shift kit and stall converter are incorporated, resulting in strong and seamless shifts.
