Make Offer Questions? The first major redesign since 1947, the Chevrolet “Task Force” pickup was built for the second half of the 1955 builds. This would be the first time that a light duty civilian truck would be offered with a V8 and other assorted car-like amenities such as power brakes and steering. Not to mention the styling was a world apart from the previous “Advance Design”. This particular really cool 57 is finished in a really cool 80's Brown Metallic with the appropriate period correct wheels and white letters out tires which happen to be new. This has a 350 V8 out of a more modern vehicle like 1970's or so. Keep in mind that this car was restored and painted in the 1980's so it is not perfect. Very cool, but not perfect with some paint imperfections that I tried to take pics of. This is a very good driver with excellent mechanicals and even has power steering. The interior was a custom job for back then and shows just fine for what it is. The rear curved glass is in very good condition, the bed, the engine bay is in very tidy order. I particularly love this truck as it starts, idles, shifts and runs down the road really nice. The pin striping and lettering is all hand painted, not stickers. The underside has some surface rust on some of the steel as can be predicted but overall is in very good shape with no rot anywhere. This would make someone such a cool cruiser or with a little bit of cosmetics a great show piece. These 1955-1959 trucks are hard to come by as most of them were used up on the farm and discarded when they either died or rusted away in a field. They don't make any more of these so get them while you can.
