This 1986 Buick Grand National boasts a sleek black exterior complemented by matching trim, front and rear spoilers, and distinctive Grand National badges adorning the fenders and trunk lid. Inside, it features a striking two-tone interior. The previous owners notably undertook significant upgrades, including a turbocharged and intercooled 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine swap paired with a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission. The drivetrain enhancements extend to a custom-fabricated driveshaft and rear axles sourced from Strange Engineering.
Performance modifications to a Fuel Air Spark Technology fuel-injection system, Turbonetics wastegate, and blow-off valve. Upgrades to the fuel-injection system include 60lb injectors and an external high-pressure fuel pump, complemented by a custom-fabricated exhaust and wiring harness kit from Painless Wiring. Exhaust enhancements from FR Performance feature stainless dual 3in muffler tailpipes, a 3.5in test pipe, and stainless/aluminum components throughout the intercooler piping.
The vehicle's suspension benefits from Hotchkis components, while stopping power is provided by Strange Engineering disc brakes. Wider rear wheels enhance stability, and control is at your fingertips with a Hurst shifter atop leather-trimmed accents. The interior showcases black cloth upholstery with gray leather inserts and a Kenwood media unit. Dynamat insulation ensures a quieter ride, with boost and fuel pressure gauges mounted on A-pillar pods.
In the trunk, Dynamat lining houses a relocated battery, Flaming River disconnect switch, and a pair of JL Audio subwoofers. The heart of this machine is a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 sourced from a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, featuring a 76mm Turbonetics ball bearing turbo, intercooler, and custom intake manifold piping.
